This insurance continuing education course covers the risks involved in owning a home, and the ways in which individuals and families can use insurance to protect themselves from these risks, including which coverage forms and endorsements are appropriate under various situations and for various clients. Subjects included:

- The Homeowners policy, breaking it down and analyzing each section of the policy in detail, including the forms available, eligibility, and modernization of the contracts used in the industry today;
- The HO3 policy property section compared to other HO forms available and when each would be used in various situations;
- The HO policy liability section in great detail;
- The various endorsements available, how, when and why they might be used to modify the policy;
- Underwriting and rating homeowners insurance;
- The dwelling policy program, including the liability supplement and optional theft coverage, and when and why it may be used instead of a homeowners policy; and;
- Allied lines coverage for homes and dwellings such as flood, earthquake, fair plans, jewelry coverage, watercraft, farm and umbrella liability
