Insuring EDP Equipment
By the end of this insurance continuing education course, agents should fully understand:
- What exposures affect Electronic Data Processing Equipment.
- Why standard property policies do not cover EDP equipment well.
- The advantages of EDP policies over standard property policies.
- Be able to Identify quality repair facilities and workmanship.
Typical provisions in coverage forms such as:
- Data Processing Equipment Coverage
- Data Processing Media Coverage
- Time Element coverage for EDP exposures
- Special liability needs for EDP exposures
The course will discuss EDP policies and the way that wording varies. Also discussed will be underwriting, risk management, and endorsements available to tailor the EDP coverage to the needs of individual insureds. This insurance CE course will help agents better explain the need for separate coverage on EDP equipment, and assist agents in recommending the proper coverage forms and endorsements for their client’s EDP equipment and media. This should allow agents to provide better service to their clients.
